Team Speedway's ’86 C4 Corvette has steadily transformed from a farm field ornament into an autocross behemoth. The hood barely contains the upgrade from a stock L98 to a twin turbo 5.3 LS. To make it happen, the Bill Schneider lead crew contacted DeWitts for the cooling package being the real estate is limited under a C4 hood when you add an LS engine and a pair of turbos. The selection was simple - an off-the-shelf Direct Fit radiator to handle the 750+ horsepower.
The combination has proven reliable over a half season of autocross and open road racing. At the ECTA Horsepower Harvest, the old C4 that was once left for dead in the field went 178 mph. That's supercar speed from a junkyard 'Vette.
